As well as the Big Lunch and the latest on Charteris Sports Centre, we will have the chance to discuss the plans to redevelop 2-12 Priory Park Road to create a large hostel. A representative of the developer will attend the meeting and says he is keen to hear the views ofresidents, so come along and have your say on this controversial planning issue.

BEST open meeting Tuesday 6 September

The next BEST open meeting will be from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday 6 September 2011, at Brent Private Tenants’ Rights Group, 36-38 Willesden Lane, NW6 7ST.

Residents fight plans to close Kilburn’s Charteris Sports Centre

The Kilburn Times reports on the massive turn-out for Saturday’s public meeting, organised by BESt. 150 people came to show their support for our local community hub.

There’s also a Facebook group you can join and an A4 poster to print off and put in your window or on your car – please support the campaign to save this vital resource for our community.

BEST volunteers needed

Do you want to get to know people in your area? Do you wish to be involved in your local community? Do you want to contribute to decision making in your area?

Brent Eleven Streets Residents Association needs volunteers who are computer literate to continue and develop the work of the BEST residents association for the following posts starting in January 2011:

  • Chairperson
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Active Board Members

Elections will take place at the AGM on 18 January at 6-9pm, 36-38 Willesden Lane NW6 at the BPTRG offices.

The “Big Planting Day” has arrived!

We are going to plant out the BEST planters on Saturday October 30.
We will meet in Post Box Square at 10am
Brent Council will be delivering plants and bulbs for us to plant out.
Please feel free to bring a trowel, spade or fork, but we will have a few spare. Please bring gloves.
